The name	AKB48 49th Single general election * Aka: The 9th AKB48 general election
Who have the eligibility	This year, we adopt "the candidate institution" which was also adopted in last year's election. The Member qualified for candidates are as follows.Members who meets at least one of the two conditions, the following (1) or (2), have the right to candidacy.(1)The members of AKB48,SKE48,NMB48,HKT48, and NGT48. *As of March 20, 2017. (2) has a full-time transfer abroad from akb48 (Rina chikano)
Nomination period	From March 25, 2017(Saturday) 11:00 am to March 31, 2017(Friday) 24:00
Bid notification	The candidates are supposed to submit written form of the "candidacy for the general election" at the acceptance desk that is being set up at AKB48 theater, SKE48 theater, NMB48 theater, HKT48 theater, and NGT48 theater and other designated places.
Elected	・The 49th Single Selected Members:16 members(1 place-16 place) ・Under girls: 16 members (17 place-32 place) ・Next girls: 16 members (33 place - 48 place) ・Future girls: 16 members (49 place - 64 place) ・Upcoming girls: 16 members (65 place - 80 place)
Voting period	2017 Years 5 Moon 30 Day May 30, 2017 (Tuesday) 10:00 am to June 16, 2017 (Friday) 15:00 pm
Data tabulation and counting method	As in the past, the third party not related to AKB48 Group are to count the votes. The votes will be strictly counted under the scrutiny by lawyers. Each day of vote counting finished the final confirmation of Attorney paper into envelopes, press the applicant's current representation by a lawyer.On the day of vote counting, lawyers prepare many pieces of paper on which the confirmed ranking is written and put it in each envelope, and the lawyer will be affixing a seal to the flap of each envelope. Then, at the event stage the presenter will open the envelopes to announce the result of the vote in front of all fans participating the event.
